Freedom for Youth Continues Serving Des Moines Youth

Freedom for Youth (FFYM) announced today that its K-12 after-school program will continue serving Greater Des Moines families this fall, alongside deliberate organizational changes designed to strengthen the ministry’s long-term sustainability.

“We want to be transparent about what we can sustain well. Freedom for Youth’s core work is after-school ministry in Des Moines — that’s where our heart is, and that’s what we’re focusing on. We’re making difficult choices about what we stop doing so we can do this one thing with the professional discipline these young people deserve,” says executive director Emmanuel “Manny” Caraballo.

The organization is focusing its Freedom Quest outreach on Greater Des Moines rather than the whole state, discontinuing the Iowa Christian Youth Network so staff stays local, and launching a new, shorter 40-day Freedom Construction Services training cohort on August 24.
