The inner-city Des Moines Freedom Center, established in 2006, contains nine buildings. The 6-acre campus includes a backyard with a basketball court, a large kitchen, computer lab, wood shop, activity center, art studio, welding shop, bike shop, and more.

The following after school programs are offered for K-12th grade students for the 2018 - 2019 school year:

  • Whiz Kidz (elementary), Monday from 3:00-6:30pm and Wednesday from 1:30-5:00pm
  • Discovery (middle school), Tuesday (boys) and Thursday (girls) from 4:00-7:00pm
  • Journey (high school), Monday from 4:00-6:30pm at the Freedom Blend Coffee shop
